Barcelona considering paying €3 million to sign 22-year-old forward permanently in the summer

Barcelona signed Pau Victor on loan from Catalan rivals Girona during the summer transfer window to reinforce the club’s reserve squad.

Indeed, the 22-year-old was brought in to strengthen the attacking options at Barça Atletic boss Rafa Marquez’s disposal.

But such has been Victor’s impact in the time he has been at Barça, that the club are now considering making his transfer permanent.

Barcelona considering paying €3 million purchase clause

Indeed, as per SPORT, Barcelona are considering activating the €3 million purchase clause included in Pau Victor’s loan deal to make his signing permanent in the summer.

Since joining the club, Victor has netted a total of 12 goals in 20 appearances for Barça Atletic, making a major impression.

The 22-year-old has fitted in seamlessly with the Barcelona style and philosophy and has displayed his goalscoring acumen and versatility, being able to play as a No. 9 or on the flanks.

Awaiting first-team debut

Not only has he done well with Barcelona Atletic, but the 22-year-old has also been called up to first-team training by Xavi Hernandez quite regularly.

In fact, Victor has been in the matchday squad for Barça on four occasions – twice each in La Liga and Copa del Rey.

And the report from SPORT states that the youngster may even make his debut tomorrow against Granada given the number of forwards out due to injuries.

So, a strong end to the season may very well convince Barcelona to pay the €3 million and make his transfer permanent in the summer.

Whether he would be a part of Barça Atletic or the first-team setup after that, or if he is sold off for a profit is a different matter, however.
