Intermediaries have now informed Chelsea that £50m Barcelona player is available

Chelsea could have the opportunity to sign one of Barcelona’s attackers this summer.

This season, especially of late, Chelsea have been pretty good going forward, or at least compared to last term.

In the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, the Blues managed to score just 38 goals. This time around, they have registered 73 with two games to go.

Mauricio Pochettino has not got everything right this season, but he has got his forward line to click.

Three attackers, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson all managed to score in Chelsea’s 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea could have chance to sign Barcelona winger in the summer

While Chelsea already have Mudryk, Sterling, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke, they could end up signing another wide man when the transfer window reopens.

According to TBR, intermediaries have informed Chelsea and several other Premier League clubs that Raphinha is available.

The same outlet reports that it is not clear yet if Chelsea will revive previous interest that they have had in Raphinha, but if they do Barcelona are looking for more than the £50m they paid to sign him from Leeds United.

Raphinha has been in and out of Xavi’s first XI this season, making 15 starts in La Liga and 11 substitute appearances.

Raphinha unlikely to be a priority for Chelsea

Raphinha’s best position is probably out on the right where he can cut in from with his left foot.

However, Chelsea already have Palmer and Madueke, who both play there.

Palmer has been exceptional all season, coming up with 38 goal contributions for Chelsea, while Madueke has really come to life of late.

The England U21 international scored and assisted in Chelsea’s 5-0 win against West Ham United just before their 3-2 victory over Forest.

With those two around, the Blues probably do not need to go out and spend £50m+ on a right winger this summer.
