Al Hilal submit massive €100 million offer for Barcelona winger, ready to triple his salary

Saudi Arabia’s interest in FC Barcelona winger Raphinha has been well-established by now. Clubs from the Middle East have been targeting the 27-year-old since last summer but nothing has come of it.

However, heading into the summer transfer window this year, Saudi Arabian clubs have reinvigorated their interest in Raphinha and are prepared to go big for his signing.

Al Hilal submit mammoth offer

Indeed, as per SPORT, Al Hilal, who own former Barcelona superstar Neymar, want Raphinha and are offering €100 million, including variables, for the Brazilian winger.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of noise surrounding the former Leeds United man and his future at Barça.

The Catalan club’s director Deco and president Joan Laporta have been approached by intermediaries with strong ties to Saudi Arabia’s big-four – Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli, to enquire about Raphinha.

In fact, last week, we reported that a big offer in excess of €80 million had arrived at Barcelona for the forward.

Now, it has emerged that the offer is from Al Hilal, who are very keen on signing Raphinha. They are willing to reach €100 million, between fixed and variable, as a transfer fee for the Barcelona winger.

Will Barcelona accept?

Given Barcelona’s financial situation, such a proposal for Raphinha would be very much tempting for the club administration.

Considering he arrived in 2022 for a fee of €57 million on a five-year contract, around €23 million of his transfer fee will have been amortised by July.

As such, selling him for an offer of around €100 million would mean a huge profit for Barcelona, one that they cannot ignore. Furthermore, the Catalans would also be freeing up €5.5 million (net) in his wages.

However, Raphinha has no desire to leave Barcelona at this time. Even though Al Hilal would be willing to triple his salary, it will take a lot of effort to convince him to accept such a move at this point.

Barça are happy with Raphinha and have previously rejected offers for him. Furthermore, Deco remains insistent that Lamine Yamal needs competition for him to continue growing.

But with the financial situation being as it is, the Brazilian’s exit is not ruled out. Convincing him will be a challenge though.
