Barça player injured, but hopeful for return

FC Barcelona has shared some pictures of Alejandro Balde’s recovery on its social media platforms. These images do not include specific details about the timeline for his potential return, but they do bring a sense of hope.

Balde sustained an injury at San Mamés on January 24 during the Copa del Rey quarterfinal match against Athletic Club. Just six days later, on January 30, he underwent surgery in Finland for a hamstring tendon injury in his right thigh, performed by Dr. Lasse Lempainen.

Although the Barcelona club released a medical update without mentioning a recovery period, there were unofficial reports suggesting a four-month absence, hinting at a return by the end of May. This timeline essentially ruled him out for the remainder of Barcelona’s season, but not for the Euro Cup.

The images of Balde working out, shared on the club’s social media channels, indicate that he is in the final stages of his rehabilitation. With only four games remaining and just over two weeks left in the competition, as LaLiga concludes on May 25, the window for his return in the domestic league is slim. However, if he completes his recovery, he may be able to participate in the Euro Cup, which is his goal.
