Man Utd ‘in transfer battle for FOUR Argentine wonderkids’ with rivals City, Real Madrid and Barcelona all in the hunt

MANCHESTER UNITED are in a transfer fight with Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona for FOUR Argentine stars, according to reports.

The Red Devils are excited about their future prospects with youngsters Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho beginning to shine at Old Trafford.

And more talented wonderkids could be set to arrive on Erik ten Hag‘s doorstep in the near-future.

According to TyC Sports, Man Utd are in the hunt for South American quartet Franco Mastantuono, Aaron Anselmino, Ian Subiare and Tomas Parmo.

Attacking midfielder Mastantuono, 16, made history on Thursday in River Plate’s 3-0 win over Excursionistas as he became the joint-second youngest goalscorer in Argentine football history.

The teenage wonderkid scored at the age of 16 years and 177 days, matching Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero.

His feat is eclipsed only by Argentine icon Diego Maradona – who netted for Argentinos Juniors aged 16 years and five days.

And while he is being linked with Man Utd, Man City, Real Madrid and Barcelona, he produced a loving message for River Plate after his historic goal.

He said: “Since I arrived in River in 2019, every time I score a goal, I kiss the club’s badge. It was the club that put food on my table when I was a kid.

“It was a great emotion (When I scored), a lot of things went through my head, it made me want to cry.

“It is a dream that came true for me.”

Defender Anselmino, 18, is another being linked with a big European move after his five appearances for Boca Juniors.

The centre-back has only played 296 minutes of senior football but is already attracting interest from some of the world’s top clubs.

Winger Subiare, 17, has turned heads with his three goals in 20 appearances for Argentina’s U17s.

He made his debut for River Plate last week as the team claimed back-to-back victories.

And Independiente midfielder Tomas Parmo, 16, is another young talent being considered by Man Utd as they look to replicate rivals Man City in acquiring young South American players.

Pep Guardiola‘s men tied Julian Alvarez down before his breakout tournament at the 2022 World Cup.

And last month they signed River Plate Claudio Echeverri, 18, for around £12.5million on a contract until 2028.
