Barcelona among favourites to sign 17-year-old midfield gem, Bayern Munich also keen

Lucas Bergvall has become a man in demand in the ongoing January transfer window, with a plethora of top clubs across Europe, including FC Barcelona, interested in signing him.

The 17-year-old Djurgardens midfield prospect has been making waves in Sweden which has naturally seen him alert the scouts of a number of teams.

Barcelona, for their part, have already tabled an initial offer for Bergvall, but are working on an improved proposal for the young midfield gem.

Earlier today, we reported that Juventus, too, had entered the race to sign the young Swedish pearl, and now there are reports of more teams being interested.

Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt interested in Bergvall

Indeed, as per Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona have been joined by two Bundesliga clubs, Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt, in pursuit of Lucas Bergvall.

The report states that Frankfurt have already begun talks with Djurgardens as well as the player’s entourage to secure his services at the earliest possible.

The Bundesliga club are completely convinced of his abilities and plan on integrating him into the first-team setup right away, with the same plans conveyed to him as well.

Eintracht are further understood to be willing to offer €9 million to sign Bergvall, but there is no agreement between the player and the team yet.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have also taken a liking towards Bergvall and have scouted him on multiple occasions, although they are yet to make any moves.

Barcelona among the favourites

Despite the growing interest in Bergvall, Plettenberg reports that Barcelona remain one of the favourites to sign him.

It has previously been suggested that the 17-year-old prefers to sign for the Catalan giants, which seemingly gives them an edge. However, the existing financial situation at the club makes matters a little complicated.

Irrespective of that, the Blaugrana remain as one of the contenders to sign Bergvall, who is yet to make a final decision on his next move.
