Barcelona have offered €7 million plus bonuses for teenage whizkid, confident of closing deal
By this time, it is well-known that FC Barcelona are one among several top clubs interested in signing Swedish midfield wonderkid Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens IF.
The 17-year-old prodigy is also understood to be keen on making the jump to the Blaugrana and made his choice clear recently when asked to pick between Barça and Manchester City.
Apart from Man City, clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and even Manchester United have shown interest in Bergvall. But with the player keen on signing for Barcelona, the situation is in favour of Xavi Hernandez & co.
Barcelona offering €7 million plus bonuses
Now, as per a report from Gianluigi Longari, Barcelona have offered a sum of €7 million plus bonuses to Djurgardens in exchange for Bergvall.
The Catalans’ offer is lower than what some of the other clubs might be willing to offer.
In fact, it has previously been reported that Eintracht Frankfurt are proposing a deal worth €10 million for the teenage whizkid. As such, Djurgardens are trying to push the youngster to accept the move to Bundesliga.
But the player remains firm on his stance of wanting to sign for Barcelona, which gives the Catalans a major advantage.
As such, the report states that the La Liga champions are confident about closing the operation and secure Bergvall’s signing from the Swedish club.
Bergvall would arrive in the summer
If the deal goes through, Barcelona would not be welcoming Bergvall in the ongoing transfer window.
Instead, the young midfielder would remain at Djurgardens on loan for the remainder of the season before making his way to Catalonia in the summer transfer window.
The player, for his part, appears to have already made his decision. What now remains is for the two clubs to reach an agreement and finalise the deal.
