Barcelona have six players nominated for La Liga’s Team of the Season
Barcelona have six players nominated to be included in La Liga’s Team of the Season for the 2023-24 campaign.
It’s been a disappointing year for Xavi’s side who are currently playing for second place with Girona in the final weeks of the season.
The Catalans still have six players nominated for the Team of the Season. Defenders Ronald Araujo and Joao Cancelo make the shortlist along with Frenkie de Jong and Ilkay Gundogan.
Top scorer Robert Lewandowski has also been shortlisted, while the final Barcelona player in contention is none other than 16-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal.
Real Madrid are set to finish first and have eight players nominated: Andriy Lunin, Dani Carvajal, Toni Rüdiger, Fede Valverde, Toni Kroos, Rodrygo, Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.
High-flying Girona also have a host of players nominated with Daley Blind, Miguel Gutiérrez, Yan Couto, Aleix García, Sávio and Artem Dovbyk all in contention.
