Xavi takes the spotlight in Barça One’s ‘El Álbum’ debut

Barça One is getting ready for its big debut in April. The new free video platform of FC Barcelona has already put together the first episode of the series ‘The Album’ featuring Xavi Hernández as the main focus. In a photography studio set up by Barça Studios, the FC Barcelona coach will take a look back at his career through some of the best snapshots. From his successful time as a Barça player, to his debut in the first team under Louis van Gaal, the era with Frank Rijkaard and Ronaldinho, the golden period with Pep Guardiola, the challenges of injuries, and his emotional farewell with the 2015 Champions League victory, fans will get to relive these memorable moments in the first episode.

The trailer shared on social media captures the essence of the journey over the past 17 years, from struggling to soaring high in the football world.

The series ‘The Album’ showcases FC Barcelona legends, offering a unique viewing experience that will soon be available on Barça One. Two more chapters are in the works, featuring Deco, the sports director of FC Barcelona, and Rafa Márquez, the coach of Barça Atlètic.

A new free streaming platform

In line with its dedication to culture and audiovisual content, FC Barcelona recently announced the upcoming launch of Barça One, a new global OTT platform that will offer a wide range of Barça-themed content for free.

Barça One is an upgraded version of Barça TV+, reflecting the club’s ambition to create a top-notch entertainment project. With 1,500 hours of video content, including archival material from the Barça TV era (matches, shows, documentaries, historical footage, etc.), as well as new programming featuring all the latest Barça news, this new project promises to be a game-changer.

It is also worth remembering that the first exclusive content of Barça One will be ‘Origins | Araujo’, a documentary about the Uruguayan defender that was presented two weeks ago at a premiere at the Espai Texas in Barcelona.
