Barcelona v Osasuna – Super Cup live

Barcelona beat Osasuna 2-0 on Thursday night in Saudi Arabia in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals.

Barcelona were able to welcome Pedri back to the bench, and for Xavi this was the chance to take the pressure off his position after an underwhelming first half to the Liga season.

The Catalans had the upper hand as they dominated possession, with Robert Lewandowski going the closest as Sergio Herrera saved well, and there was more frustration when Raphinha had to be subbed with an injury before the half was out.

In the second half, Robert Lewandowski scored after a fine assist from Ilkay Gundogan to break the stalemate, as the Pole finally made it into double figures for the season. Osasuna appealed for a Frenkie De Jong foul in the build-up but their appeals were denied, and Lamine Yamal scored a brilliant late second after excellent work from fellow sub Joao Felix.

Barcelona will now play Real Madrid in Sunday’s final, after their 5-3 extra-time victory over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
