FC Barcelona players called up for international duty

International football is back on the menu next week, and as the respective national coaches make their squad announcement, we’ll keep you updated with all the news right here.

Spain: Gavi, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal and Iñigo Martínez

Luis de la Fuente has called up four Barça players for the games against Cyprus and Georgia, which are effectively friendlies from the Spanish point of view as they have already booked their place at Euro 2024. The big news is the inclusion of Iñigo Martínez, his first call-up for eight months.

Meanwhile, Fermín López has been named in the Spain U21 squad.

Germany: Ter Stegen and Gündoğan

Julian Nagelsmann has picked the Barça duo for two friendlies against Turkey and Austria. Germany are hosting Euro 2022 so don’t have to qualify, but the first of those games should be particularly special for Gündoğan given his family ties to Turkey.

Denmark: Christensen

It’s has been a tough ride for Denmark in Euro 2024 qualifying, but they’re getting there in the end and a win in either of the last two games against Slovenia and Northern Island will settle their place.

France: Kounde

France have already done the job, and can relax as they see out their final fixtures against Gibraltar and Greece.

Brazil: Raphinha

After losing to Uruguay, Brazil have slipped to third in the Conmebol World Cup qualifying group, and now they face a couple of tricky games against Colombia and defending champions Argentina.

Portugal: Cancelo and João Félix, Poland: Lewandowski

Portuguese national team coach Roberto Martínez has called up both João Félix and João Cancelo for the fixture against Liechtenstein and Iceland in qualifying for the European Championships.  Portugal have already assured their place in the Euro 2024 finals

Roberto Lewandowski is in the Poland squad for their Euro 2024 qualifying game against the Czech Republic.

Uruguay: Araujo

The centre back is off on World Cup qualification duty, with what is always a fascinating game with neighbours Argentina and then a meeting with winless Bolivia.

Jaume Cuellar: Bolivia

The Barça Atlètic forward has been called up by Bolivia once more for the World Cup qualifying matches against Peru and Uruguay.

*This page will be updated as news comes through of other FC Barcelona players that have been called up for international duty.
