FC Barcelona players on international duty

There is another international break upon us, and as soon Sunday’s game with Granada is over, a large portion of the FC Barcelona squad will be heading off to represent their countries in Euro 2024 and World Cup 2026 qualifiers, plus a few friendlies.

Scotland and Norway are the next tests for La Roja, who are on excellent course for a place at Euro 24 in Germany. Alejandro Balde, Gavi, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres have all been included in the plans this time.

France have won every game so far, but keeping that record going won’t be easy in the Netherlands. Jules Kounde has been named in the squad, who also have a friendly against Scotland coming up.

Both João Cancelo and João Félix are in the Portugal camp, and they’re another side with a 100 per cent record so far. Chances are that after the games with Slovakia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, they will have already done enough to seal mathematical passage to Euro 24.

Andreas Christensen is a regular in the Danish national side, who face direct rivals Kazakhstan and minnows San Marino in what is currently a very tight qualification group.

Germany are the hosts of Euro 24 and therefore do not need to qualify. With a new manager at the helm, Julian Nagelsmann, formerly of Bayern and RB Leipzig, they are travelling to North America next week for friendlies with the USA and Mexico. İlkay Gündoğan and Marc-André Ter Stegen have both been named in the squad as usual.

Spain U21

Fermín López has been called up by U21 boss Santi Denia, and could thus make his debut at that level in games against Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Jaume Cuellar of Barça Arhlètic has been included again in the Bolivian side that will be playing World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.

*Other FC Barcelona players are likely to be playing for their national teams too, but the official squad announcements have yet to be made. This page will be updated when they are, and should the players in question be selected.
