FC Barcelona Prepares Kylian Mbappe Offer With This Formula

FC Barcelona is preparing its “financial muscle” to sign Kylian Mbappe and believes it has the formula to pull off his arrival according to Radio MARCA journalist David Sanchez.

Early on Thursday evening in Europe, The Athletic’s David Ornstein plus fellow transfer experts Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano all reported that Mbappe has told Paris-Saint Germain he will leave the club when his contract expires on June 30.

Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with outlets including Footmercato reporting that he has already agreed to join Los Blancos.

Last weekend, though, MARCA explained that talks between Los Blancos and Mbappe’s camp are currently at an impasse thanks to clashes with the 25-year-old’s notoriously difficult mother Fayza Lamari.

That was good news to other clubs interested in signing Mbappe, such as Liverpool in the PremierPINC League.

Every once in a while, however, the name of Madrid’s bitter enemy FC Barcelona has been thrown into the ring as a potential next destination for Mbappe.

Not long after the latest bombshell development became public knowledge, Radio MARCA‘s reporter David Sanchez explained that the Catalans are preparing their “financial muscle” to possibly sign Mbappe.

For the operation to be a success Sanchez said, the departure of two important players will be crucial as would the sale of the remaining shares available in Barca Studios.

In August 2022, Barca sold 24.5% of its media arm to Orpheus Media and another 24.5% to Socios.com.

If two first team squad heavyweights are offloaded and the remaining 50% of Barca Studios went with them, this “would be enough for the arrival of the Frenchman” Sanchez stated.

A pair of names that could fit the bill are defender Ronald Araujo, linked to Bayern Munich, and Frenkie de Jong.

Barca would prefer not to offload either player, but might be forced to entertain bids north of $100 million for each man given their financial predicament whether an attempt is made to deliver Mbappe or not.

Though any final decision on these matters rest with President Joan Laporta, Sporting Director Deco made his beliefs clear when saying that such a coup would be a “mistake”.

“I don’t know what will happen with Mbappe,” Deco admitted to Esport3 a week ago.

“[But] it would be a mistake to sell Araujo and Frenkie. I would like to improve the squad and not make it worse. I think it would be worse for the team if Araujo and Frenkie left and Mbappe came in,” the Portuguese revealed.
