FC Barcelona will earn about €3 million for its friendly match in Japan

FC Barcelona will earn a significant amount of money for playing against Vissel Kobe in Tokyo. If it earned 5 million euros for going to Sydney and playing against an Australian League club, it will earn 3 million euros for playing against Vissel Kobe in Japan. As MD has learned, that will be the figure that ends up entering the club’s coffers, which also assumes the cost of travel from Vigo on the outward journey and back again once the match is played in Japanese capital.

The Celta-Barça match is currently scheduled for Sunday, June 4 at 7 p.m. CET but it is very likely to be moved to Saturday if all but one of the teams have nothing at stake in LaLiga.

The friendly at the Tokyo National Stadium against Vissel Kobe, organized by NSN (Never Say Never), will be the second against the same team. The first was in the Rakuten Cup on July 27, 2019, which Barça won 0-2 with two goals from Carles Perez. Iniesta, David Villa and Sergi Samper played for the Japanese side.

Barcelona will travel to Japan for the second time at the end of the season after doing so in 2005. The following visits were on tour in the summers of 2004 and 2007, as well as 2019.
