If it happens, FC Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski will support Bayern Munich over Borussia Dortmund to win Champions League

The departure of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich may seem like a long time ago, but it was less than two years ago that the Lewandowski saga unfolded, in which the media used 10-second long quotes taken from podcasts hours long to vilify the Pole as he forced a move through to Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Despite the drama and the repeated losses he subsequently suffered against former employers, Lewandowski did not just forget the eight years he spent in Munich overnight.

Lewandowski stated as much the other night when interviewed by reporter Tobi Altschäffl. As captured by @iMiaSanMia, Atschäffl asked Lewandowski which of his two ex-clubs (Dortmund and Bayern) he would rather root for to win the Champions league now that his team had been knocked out of the competition by Paris Saint Germain. Accepting the strange question, Lewandowski had this to say: “I played for Bayern for eight years. Therefore, there’s a bit more space in my heart for FC Bayern than for Dortmund. I would go for Bayern.”

Never let it be said that Lewandowski is secretive about his allegiances.
