Just in: Barcelona receive €70 million offer from Tottenham for 27-year-old forward

According to a recent report from SPORT, Barcelona have received a €70 million offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Raphinha. The London outfit are looking to sign him in the summer, and have already tabled their opening bid.

Previous reports about Raphinha have stated that the Brazilian is not looking to leave the Catalan capital this summer.

He does, however, know that Lamine Yamal’s breakthrough has pushed him down the pecking order, especially for bigger games.

And while the coaching staff will be conservative with his playing time, he could become the first-choice winger at the club by the next season, and will likely continue to play in the big games this season.

Further, it was also reported that Barcelona are looking to get around €100 million for Raphinha’s services in the summer. They spent €60 million on his services, and will likely hold out for at least a 30-35% profit.

Liverpool also interested

Tottenham are not the only party looking to sign Raphinha in the summer, though. If anything, multiple Premier League clubs have their eyes on the 27-year-old, who could be on his way out of Barça as early as this summer.

Liverpool also have him on their radar along with a certain Ansu Fati. And while the Spaniard is not doing particularly well at Brighton & Hove Albion on loan, the Merseyside outfit believe they can recover his fitness and potential.

Arsenal have also been stated with an interest in the past, while Manchester United could be in the race, too, after less-than-impressive performances from Antony since his arrival last summer.

Barcelona’s perspective

For a club in a pithole of financial trouble, multiple Premier League teams interested in one player, with a €70 million offer already on the table is lottery.

However, Barcelona must make sure that should they accept the offer, the money is spent wisely. They cannot afford to put too much pressure on Lamine Yamal, and must definitely invest some of the earning back into the same position.

A huge chunk of it should also go to the pivot position, and possibly the left-wing slot, that has been a huge concern for the club this season.

At the end of the day, this hypothesis will finally burn down to a potential bidding war that would definitely favour Barcelona. They will have to convince Raphinha to leave, though, which could be a very long negotiation.
