Join the ‘Barça Fest’ at El Poble Espanyol before the Montjuïc matches!
For a few weeks now, Poble Espanyol in Barcelona has been the go-to spot for every Barça fan who heads to the magical mountain to catch a Barça match at Montjuïc. During the match against Villarreal, FC Barcelona kicked off what they’re calling ‘Barça Fest’, a project that involves creating a dedicated area for fans to hang out before and after the match in a purely Barça atmosphere, complete with activities, performances, and a food area. Essentially, they’re trying to recreate the vibe that used to happen on the grandstand esplanade during matches at the Spotify Camp Nou, since the Estadi Lluís Companys doesn’t allow for it and the club didn’t want fans to miss out on that experience. For an extra 10 euros on top of the match ticket, which can be purchased on the website when buying the seat, attendees get access to a special area, as well as a full visit to the popular and historic Poble Espanyol. The space can hold around 3,000 people and since the project started, they’ve been getting an average of about 900 attendees, although the match time plays a big role in how many fans show up, with earlier games drawing the most culés. The agreement between FC Barcelona and Poble Espanyol allows for the facility to have several ‘food trucks’ offering a variety of drinks and snacks. Another cool feature is the concerts that take place before and after the games in the area next to the venue’s monastery, creating a festive atmosphere as a warm-up to what happens later in the stadium stands.Those who want to attend the ‘Barça Fest’ will find its doors open four hours before the ball starts rolling in Barça‘s home games, but not in all of them. Depending on the schedule, the date, or even if the match is classified as high risk, such as the next visit of Naples. Then the space will not be enabled for security.
