New return date for Gavi pencilled in at Barcelona after ACL tear
Barcelona midfielder Gavi’s recovery from ACL surgery is said to be going “perfectly” but fans may still have to wait quite a while to see the midfielder back in action again.
The Spain international saw his season ended prematurely by the injury and he was forced to undergo surgery back in November 2023.
A new return date has now been pencilled in, with Moises Llorens at ESPN claiming Gavi is in “no hurry” to return and may not come back until “September or October.”
If the estimate proves accurate it means that Gavi will miss pre-season and the first few weeks of the new campaign as he continues to work on his recovery.
Barcelona will certainly won’t want to take any risks with Gavi due to his importance, the severity of the injury and the fact the team have been plagued by injuries recently.
Yet there’s no doubt at all that Gavi has been seriously missed by the Catalans and having him back will be a massive boost to the team.
