Official: Barcelona forward named in Brazil squad for Copa America 2024

With the season in the final phase, players will soon depart to their respective national teams with a busy summer ahead as the UEFA Euro and the Copa America will be taking place.

With both tournaments set to kick off next month, Brazil have announced their squad list for the Copa America 2024 that will be played in the USA.

And, manager Dorival Junior has decided to hand a call-up to Barcelona forward Raphinha in the squad.

The 27-year-old has had a good season with Barça, racking up nine goals and 12 assists from 35 games in all competitions.

The winger was part of the Brazil squad for the friendlies in March earlier this year and as such it does not come as a surprise to see him be on the list for the Copa America.

While Raphinha makes the cut, his Barcelona teammate Vitor Roque has not been considered for selection, which is understandable given that the 19-year-old has hardly played since arriving at the club in the winter.

Brazil are scheduled to play a couple of warm-up matches in early June before kicking off their Copa America campaign against Costa Rica on the 24th.
