PSG ultras send threatening message aimed at Barcelona ahead of UCL clash – ‘Make them tremble’

Barcelona had nine days off following their win against Las Palmas in La Liga last weekend before taking on PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals. The first-leg, this Wednesday, is set to go ahead at the Parc des Princes.

PSG have the reputation of hosting one of the most hostile active ultras groups at their home, who do not hold back their feedback for any team that plays there, including their own.

Ahead of the monumental Champions League game, the PSG ultras have sent an official message to their fans, aimed largely at Barcelona.

‘Despicable Barcelona’

Hoping to bring in the best support to create a hostile environment at the Parc des Princes, the PSG ultras group Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) have issued an official notice.

“On Wednesday, our team faced FC Barcelona. For us the match started from the final whistle against Clermont yesterday. Our role will be essential and we demand total and collective mobilisation from everyone,” it read.

“Let’s turn up to the stadium early, wear the red and blue shirt, and make our opponents tremble as soon as they enter the pitch to warm-up.”

They also attacked Barcelona directly, claiming that the Catalans are ‘favoured’ by referees.

“This despicable Barcelona, so often favoured by referees, must feel in more than hostile territory. It is our duty to make the Parc a terrifying fortress for the opponent, and with the determination of our team, let’s make it impregnable.”

A clash of titans

Heading into this game, Barcelona are in solid form, unbeaten across 11 matches, including a 4-2 win against Napoli in the Champions League round of 16.

This young team will be motivated to get the best of PSG, who are coming off a 1-1 draw against Clermont Foot yesterday. Although, they are on an impressive run of form, too, with their streak extending to 27 games across all competitions.

The first-leg at the Parc des Princes will definitely be a terrifying atmosphere, but the onus is on Xavi and co. to make sure their players are unfazed.
