Report: Barcelona locker room’s reaction to PSG draw

Barcelona triumphantly advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals after enduring four tumultuous years of challenges and setbacks in the European stages.

Earlier today, the Catalan giants discovered their opponents at this stage of the competition, with the fickle finger of fate pairing them up against PSG.

Barça have crossed paths with the Parisians a great deal in their European endeavors over the years, and a chance to improve their solid record against them will once again be in the offing this season.

Now, as per Alex Pintanel although the Barcelona players were not overwhelmed with joy when the match-up with PSG was declared, they were not at all disappointed with how the draw turned out.

Furthermore, as per Javi Miguel there is satisfaction with the outcome of the draw, as Barça have avoided Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Moreover, a win would potentially see them face off against Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals, which is again favourable.

One of those two teams would certainly be considered a lesser threat than the other teams existing in the competition, paving a potential route to the all-important final at Wembley.

Favourable draw

The result of the draw could have arguably been far worse for the Blaugranes. Indeed, Bayern Munich, who are considered Barcelona’s bogey team, or the reigning champions Manchester City could have posed even greater challenges.

Surmounting PSG by no means will be a breeze for Barcelona, with the Parisians leading Ligue 1 dominantly and possessing one of the world’s best players, Kylian Mbappe, within their ranks.

But with the French giants having not won the Champions League once, Barça will be banking on their heritage.

Despite trailing behind Real Madrid in the league standings by a significant margin, Barcelona’s recent form has shown an upward trajectory.

Since Xavi announced his resignation after the loss against Villarreal, Barcelona have not lost a single game.
