Ronald Araujo calls on Barcelona to change mentality after Girona defeat

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has called on his team to change their mentality after losing to Girona in La Liga.

The Catalans threw away a 2-1 lead to go down to a 4-2 defeat to Michel’s side, and Araujo spoke after the game about how his team can improve.

“I think that’s how it was, we were controlling the game very well. I think we had many opportunities to seal it, score the 3-1, we had many chances to do it,” he told the club’s media.

“I think we were doing very well in the game, then we made mistakes, I think we also dropped mentally when they equalized, I think we need to have a more winning mentality, to think that we are in the game and there is more to come.

“I think these are mistakes we made this season, that need to be corrected for what’s to come because I think the team is a good team and we need to correct these things.”

Barca have now lost twice to Girona this team and face a battle to finish second. They are back in action a week on Monday against Real Sociedad.
