The Copa del Rey continues in midweek with the quarter final ties of this season’s competition. After defeating Unionistas de Salamanca in the last 16, Xavi Hernández’ side have a chance to book a place in the semi-finals of the competition if they can get past another club with a great history in the cup, Athletic Club de Bilbao. The game on Wednesday in San Mamés, kick off 9.30pm CET, will be the 45th meeting between the two teams in the Copa del Rey.
For the game in the Basque Country, the blaugranes have Andreas Christensen back after the Danish international missed the away win at Betis in the league on Sunday with a foot injury. João Cancelo also returns after recovering from a knee injury and the two defenders are named in a 22 man squad: João Cancelo, Balde, R. Araujo, Ferran, Pedri, Lewandowski, Iñaki Peña, João Félix, Christensen, Romeu, Vitor Roque, S. Roberto, F. De Jong, Gündoğan, Kounde, Astralaga, Lamine Yamal, Fermín, Cubarsí, Aron, Marc Guiu and H. Final session at the Ciutat Esportiva
Before the trip to Bilbao, the available first team players carried out their final training session at the Ciutat Esportiva before Wednesday’s game. Also present in the session were Astralaga, Aron, Marc Guiu, Cubarsí, H. Fort, Mikayil and Gerard Martín from Barça Atlètic.
