Tottenham Hotspur willing to offer €70 million for 27-year-old Barcelona forward – report

Barcelona brought in Xavi from Al-Sadd to replace Ronald Koeman as the head coach of the club back in 2021.

The Spaniard significantly cut his wages, and was ready to adapt to the conditions of the club, in a situation where they could barely make signings and compete at the highest level.

Xavi has now announced his decision to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, which definitely puts the club on the back foot. They will need to bring in a manager who can acclimatise themself to the club’s context and still deliver.

To do that, Barcelona will need to sell some important players in the summer, hoping they raise enough revenue to plug in holes in other positions of the pitch while not comprising quality.

One of the players on the transfer list is Raphinha. At the club since 2022, the Brazilian has not particularly impressed the coaching staff or fans with his performances and could be moved on as early as this June.

SPORT have reported that there are several interested parties looking to secure the 27-year-old’s services. Tottenham Hotspur, in fact, are ready to shell out as much as €70 million to sign him in the summer.

Other teams also interested

Tottenham are not only the only Premier League team interested in Raphinha, though, with previous reports stating that Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Arsenal are also monitoring the player’s situation.

There are also talks of Saudi Arabian clubs keeping tabs on the former Leeds United man, with both Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal linked to his signature.

Barcelona also have offers for Araujo, de Jong

Apart from Raphinha, Barcelona also have offers for other important players in their team. The report claims that Joan Laporta has already disclosed to some important club members about bids for Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong.

While Araujo has been deemed ‘untouchable’ by the club despite concrete interest from Bayern Munich, de Jong could definitely be heading towards the exit door.

Reports from Jijantes have previously claimed that Barcelona have an offer worth €60 million for the Dutchman from Spurs.
