Tottenham imminent new signing dreams of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid, says agent
Radu Dragusin has been a man in demand during the ongoing January transfer window, with a number of top clubs showing interest.
The Romanian international has been excelling at Genoa, boosting his profile as clubs like Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur took an interest in signing him.
Even Barcelona were credited with an interest in the 21-year-old centre-back, but it is Spurs who have won the race for his signing.
Indeed, as Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today, all formalities have been completed between Tottenham and Genoa and the defender has also completed his medicals, with just an official announcement pending now.
Dragusin dreams of Barcelona or Real Madrid
Bayern Munich made a late push to try and sign Dragusin, but having given his word to Tottenham, the Romanian is now headed to London.
Speaking of snubbing a big club like Bayern, Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea has now claimed that the move to Tottenham is only a stepping stone and that the 21-year-old harbours dreams of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid.
“We are only at the beginning of the road, we want him to reach the best teams in the world,” Manea told Romanian network Digi Sport (via Evening Standard).
“We were close, Bayern are among the biggest clubs, but his dream is Real or Barcelona.”
No offers from Barcelona
In another interview with Digi Sport, Manea confirmed that there were offers from other clubs like Napoli and AC Milan as well for Dragusin, but there was nothing from Barcelona this month.
“Everything that was written, about Tottenham, about Bayern, about Milan, about Napoli, were official, real offers. There was no offer from Barca, I didn’t speak to anyone there,” he stated.
