Tough tests await in October


October looks set to be challenging for FC Barcelona with several matches on the way, including a LaLiga Clásico, two Champions League games, plus an international break. Xavi Hernández’ men will be playing five games next month, with a full set of wins the aim.

Barça start October with a visit to the Estadio do Dragão to take on FC Porto in the second Champions League group stage game. After putting five against Royal Antwerp, the blaugranes will be wanting to keep up the good work on 4 October in Portugal (kick off 9pm CEST).

Xavi Hernández’ side have another away trip that week, this time to Granada for the LaLiga matchday nine fixture. The game will be played on 8 October at the Estadio Los Cármenes (kick off 9pm CEST).

The international break follows from 12 to 17 October, when some players will meet up with their national sides to fulfil their relevant qualifying fixtures.

Three home games follow the international break, the first in LaLiga against Athletic Club for the matchday 10 fixture on 22 October (kick off 9pm CEST).

Just three days later sees Barça back playing in the Champions League at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The third group stage game opponents will be Shakhtar Donetsk, kick off 9pm CEST on 25 October. 

And what better way to bring a hectic month of October to an end than a Clásico against Real Madrid. The first competitive Clásico of the season is the LaLiga matchday 11 fixture, with kick off at 4.15pm on 28 October.
