Barcelona academy gems to be the face of the 2030 World Cup in Spain


The Spanish national team has benefited greatly from Barcelona’s abundance of talent over the years.

Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, David Villa, Gerard Pique, and Sergio Busquets are just some examples of the gems Barça have provided to La Roja.

This trend appears to be holding sway once more. Despite a change of guard, Barcelona’s new generation of youngsters, especially those hailing from La Masia, have made a name for themselves in Spain.

Most recently, eight Barcelona players were included in Spain’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

Now, some of those names are unlikely to make the cut in the upcoming international tournaments, but considering the frequency with which Barcelona are churning out new talents, that number could very well rise.

The Yamal-Cubarsi Vision

Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have proven to be the latest trailblazers to emerge from Barcelona’s academy and stamp their influence on the Spanish national team.

Owing to the incredible strides the pair has already made, SPORT have come out to report that Lamine and Cubarsi lead the 2030 World Cup plan for Spain.

The Federation is promoting a project thinking about the World Cup it will host with Morocco and Portugal.

In the recently concluded international break, Yamal produced one of his finest displays against Brazil, while Cubarsi featured off the bench in Spain’s two games.

As such, the teenage sensations stand at the forefront of Spain’s ambitious plan for the 2030 World Cup.

Praise from the other side

Despite possessing ties with Barcelona’s arch-rivals, Real Madrid, Dani Carvajal had to give Cubarsi and Yamal their roses, justifying their inclusion in the squad list for Spain.

“Lamine, Gavi or Cubarsí give the level when they play for the first team. The coach does not look at your age or where you come from.

“The player who is here comes for his performance and they show their performance,” he asserted.
