Barcelona forward urges club to sign Man City superstar – “He asks me how things are here”
On-loan Barcelona forward Joao Felix has urged the Blaugrana to sign Bernardo Silva in the summer, saying that if he had the reigns of sporting decision, he would sign the Manchester City midfielder without a doubt.
Over the past few weeks, amidst news of Xavi’s continuity at Barcelona, sources have reported that Barcelona might go behind Bernardo’s signature for the third summer running.
Speaking in the context, Felix – while speaking to Gerard Romero – gave his take on the transfer, saying the Man City midfielder asks him about the environment of the club.
“Bring Bernardo Silva, bring him. He is very good and even better as a person,” said Felix.
“He asks me about Barcelona, he has family here. He asks me how things are here. I told him that everything was fine for him to come.”
“If I were Deco for a day I would sign Bernardo Silva, without a doubt,” he added.
Barcelona will go for Bernardo in the summer
Earlier today, we reported that there is a chance that Bernardo Silva might be wrapping up his time at Manchester City this season, eyeing a potential move to Barcelona.
Last summer, Barcelona’s tight financial situation, thanks to Financial Fair Play regulations, meant they had to back out of the deal for Bernardo.
As a result, he ended up extending his contract. Interestingly, in that contract extension, Bernardo negotiated a termination clause that’s quite favourable for Barcelona, set at around €58 million.
Now, with the club’s management focusing on convincing Xavi to stay, attention has once again turned towards Bernardo Silva.
Given how curious Bernardo seems about his conversation with Felix about Barcelona, it can be argued that the Blaugrana do stand a chance to sign the Portugal international, which could also aid in the club’s pursuit of keeping Xavi.
