PSG and Barcelona clash in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Wednesday, and we have our PSG vs. Barcelona prediction and best bet based on the top Champions League odds.

With two games on Tuesday and two on Wednesday, the Champions League quarterfinals are officially here. And all eyes will be on PSG and Barcelona when they meet Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET from Parc des Princes in Paris, France.

The comparative inferiority of Ligue 1 is a blessing and a curse for PSG, which owns a 10-point cushion atop the table over Brest – providing manager Luis Enrique the freedom to place a heightened focus on Barcelona and the Champions League. PSG has never won Champions League, advancing past the quarterfinals twice since 1994-95. The lack of elite domestic competition may have hindered PSG from reaching the level required to conquer Europe’s most competitive clubs.

Barcelona, on the other hand, is hitting its stride after a shaky start to the season. The Spanish giants are currently on an impressive 11-match unbeaten run in all competitions and are showing signs of returning to top form. There is a cautionary tale from the 2016-17 season when Barcelona famously overturned a 4-0 deficit against PSG, although this upcoming matchup promises to be a different story altogether.

Accompanying our Real Madrid vs. Man. CityArsenal vs. Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund predictions, here are our best PSG vs. Barcelona prediction and soccer picks (odds via our best soccer betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

PSG vs. Barcelona prediction

Under 2.5 goals ⭐⭐⭐

Let’s not ignore that these two powerhouses, with more firepower than most rogue militias, can fill the net faster than an overzealous 40-year-old coach in a training drill against an eight-year-old goalkeeper. However, it’s the quarterfinal of the Champions League, where time and space are at a premium. Only two of the eight matches in both legs from last season’s quarterfinals had more than two goals.

PSG hasn’t scored more than two goals in their previous three matches. Two of those three contests were against comparative minnows Clermont Foot and Rennes. The other, a 2-0 triumph, was against Marseille, the 8th-place team in Ligue 1.

While Barcelona has been scoring more often recently, netting three tallies in two of their previous three games, they have yet to face an intimidating atmosphere like Parc des Princes this season. Neither team can afford to make a mistake, which should lean toward the Under.
