Barcelona will consider selling €60 million-rated Chelsea, Man United defensive target

With the financial situation they find themselves in, FC Barcelona will need to make some important sales in the summer transfer window.

As reported earlier this week, the Blaugrana are considering offloading at least two centre-backs in a bid to raise funds and one of the sacrificial lambs could be Jules Kounde.

The Frenchman is a player that is in demand in the Premier League and clubs could be willing to pay a big sum to sign him in the summer.

Barcelona will consider selling Kounde

As has been reported earlier this week, two Premier League giants, Chelsea and Manchester United, are very interested in signing Kounde in the summer.

The same information is corroborated by Mundo Deportivo, with the Spanish publication reporting that Chelsea and Manchester United are indeed serious about the possibility of signing the 25-year-old in the summer.

Building on that, the report further states that Barcelona will consider offers for the French international, whose market value stands at €60 million.

Kounde joined Barça in 2022 from Sevilla in exchange for €50 million plus €10 million in variables. He has a contract until 2027 and a release clause of €1 billion.

Primarily a centre-back, the French defender has filled in at right-back more often than not at Barcelona and has done a largely solid job.

Barça are happy with Koundé’s professionalism and also with his adaptation to the right side of the defence, despite the ups and downs in his performance.

But if an offer were to arrive that would allow them to recover the investment they have made, they would consider selling him. With Chelsea and Manchester United able to spend big, they would be capable of offering a sizeable sum for the Barcelona defender.
