Barcelona will listen to offers for heavyweight forward due to his €32 million salary

Barcelona will consider offers for their star forward, Robert Lewandowski, primarily due to his high salary of €32 million next season, according to a report from RAC1

The club is facing financial difficulties and needs to manage its budget, making Lewandowski’s contract a concern. However, sources close to the forward claim that he has no desire to leave the team.

Lewandowski made a strong statement by scoring a hat-trick against Valencia, which keeps him in the race for the Pichichi trophy.

It is to be noted that Lewandowski is currently in his second season with the team and has a contract extension with an option for a fourth year.

At 35 years old, the Polish striker is the most impactful player in Xavi’s squad in terms of performance, but there have been rumours of a potential exit next summer

Even Xavi acknowledged this possibility during a press conference on Friday, stating, “We will decide when the season ends.”

So what next for Lewandowski?

The transfer market in football is always active, and Barcelona are still looking to secure the necessary funds to make new signings.

Xavi did not intend to raise doubts about Lewandowski’s future, but his comments may have inadvertently done so.

Now that the uncertainty is there, it remains to be seen what the future holds, particularly if a lucrative offer comes in from Saudi Arabia, something that the forward reportedly rejected.

While waiting to find out the club’s plans, Lewandowski himself has no plans to leave Barcelona. One of his goals is to be part of the opening of the new Camp Nou stadium.

In any way, the club’s current situation requires considering all possibilities, including a sale to generate revenue and lower their wage bill by a significant margin.

However, it seems that Lewandowski is not planning on a change of scenery next summer.
