Barcelona’s unbeaten home streak in Liga F comes to an end

Barcelona’s formidable 70-game winning streak at home in Liga F was brought to a halt on Wednesday, as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Levante at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Despite a dominant 7-0 victory over Levante in the Spanish Supercopa just last month, Barça faced unexpected resistance.

Salma Paralluelo initially provided Barcelona with a first-half lead, raising hopes of another commanding win. However, Levante’s Alba Redondo equalized after the break, securing a historic point for the Valencia-based team.

The draw marks the first time Barcelona has failed to secure victory at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in any competition, signifying the conclusion of an extraordinary era.

Sporting de Huelva was the last team to disrupt Barcelona’s home dominance in Liga F when they secured a 3-2 victory on February 13, 2019.

Barça’s previous dominance at home spanned an impressive 70 consecutive wins, covering the entirety of four complete campaigns: ’19-’20, ’20-’21, ’21-’22, and ’22-’23.

The unexpected draw against Levante represents a significant shift in the team’s home performance, adding a new chapter to the club’s storied history in Liga F.
