Barcelona assistant Oscar Hernandez hit with two-game touchline ban after Copa del Rey row

Barcelona assistant Oscar Hernandez, who is also Xavi’s brother, has been banned for two Copa del Rey games after being sent off against Barbastro.

There were some angry scenes at the final whistle last time out, with Oscar Hernandez seeing red after protesting to the officials about a disallowed goal for Joao Felix.

Some Barbastro players were involved in the confrontation too, although they have since apologised for getting caught up in the moment.

Oscar Hernandez, however, has been sanctioned by the RFEF and been hit with a two-game touchline ban in the Copa del Rey.

The news means that he won’t be on the touchline for Barcelona’s next game, against Unionistas de Salamanca, which Xavi’s side will be expected to win.

Barcelona will face Unionistas after the Spanish Super Cup. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17 at the Campo de Futbol Reina Sofía in Salamanca.
