‘I will stay here’: Barcelona superstar makes stance on future clear

Speaking in an interview with Tomasz Wlodarczyk, Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski has iterated that he will stay put at the club despite there being some speculations surrounding his future.

The 35-year-old did not have the best first half of the season leading to rumours that Barça could look to part ways with him in the summer, especially with Saudi Arabia interested.

Lewandowski, who has rediscovered some form in recent weeks, made it clear that he is not going anywhere.

“It’s clear for me. I will stay at Barcelona for next season,” he remarked.

When asked about the speculations about his future in the Spanish media, Lewandowski responded:

“Not the Spanish press. Maybe one article by a journalist in a newspaper, but not all the Spanish press talks about that.

“For me everything is clear and I know where I will play next season. After all this time I know how Spanish journalism works: one day a journalist writes one thing, the next day something different. So I don’t follow that.”

Lewandowski was also asked about the possibility of Kylian Mbappe joining arch-rivals Real Madrid, to which he replied:

“I don’t know if he officially moved to Real Madrid, so it’s difficult to comment. Perhaps it is better to wait until the news is officially confirmed. There is no ‘Here we go’ yet, so it’s hard for me to comment!”

“Knowing Kylian and speaking to him in the past, I know that playing against him in La Liga will be a cool thing.”
