Barcelona legend Gerard Pique announces plans to return to football
Barcelona legend Gerard Pique has made a surprise announcement and said he’s returning to football because he misses the game so much.
Pique decided to hang up his boots in November 2022 and has largely spent his time working on his King’s League project.
However, the former center-back now says he wants to return and take up a role in coaching.
Here’s what he’s had to say:
“It’s a new year and after thinking carefully I have decided to return to football,” he wrote on X.
“I miss it a lot. This time it won’t be as a player. It will be as a coach. I’ll share more details at the end of the week.”

We’ll have to wait and see where Pique is actually going to do next. The defender has spoken before about how he misses the locker room but doesn’t regret his decision to retire at the age of 35.
