Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Club América will play a friendly in Dallas on 21 December at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas as part of a charity match with proceeds from the game set to aid the victims following the destruction from the recent Hurricane Otis which devastated parts of Mexico earlier in the month.
The Cotton Bowl has a capacity for 92,000 spectators with a big pre-Christmas crowd expected to see two of the decorated names in global football. The last meeting between both teams was 12 years ago with the LaLiga side running out 2-0 winners.
America finished the regular phase of the season as the leader of the Apertura 2023 with 40 points in the 17 games it played (12 victories, 4 draws and only one defeat) and the Coapa side now face the labyrinth of the Liguilla on their quest to be crowned champions of Mexico.
