Report: The team Barcelona want to face in the Champions League quarterfinals

With the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals draw set to take place tomorrow, Barcelona will learn who they will face in the last-eight stages of the tournament.

The Blaugrana made it through to this stage of the competition for the first time since 2020 and hope to go further in the tournament.

However, it will be easier said than done given the quality of oppositions that they could face. After all, Manchester City, Arsenal, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund are the other seven teams in the competition.

It has already been reported that the Blaugrana wish to avoid Manchester City in the next round for they see Pep Guardiola’s side as a huge challenge.

The team that Barcelona do wish to face

Now, Javi Miguel of AS has brought about an update on who the Barcelona locker room would prefer to face in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

The Blaugrana squad is practically unanimous about the opponent they want in the quarter-finals. And it is none other than Borussia Dortmund.

A large number of players and the coaching staff would prefer to see the Bundesliga giants as their next opponents in the Champions League, although they acknowledge that the Black and Yellows would still be a tough nut to crack.

There is also absolute consensus on the two opponents to be avoided at all costs, both in the quarter-finals and semi-finals: Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The desire of the dressing room would be to meet them in a theoretical final, in a single match, where the chances of victory would be increased.

Both Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are opponents of a very high level, but someone that can be dealt with in a two-legged tie. As for Bayern Munich and PSG, Barcelona would prefer to see them in the semi-finals rather than the quarter-finals.
