[Video] Heartwarming conversation between Xavi and a Barcelona fan after training: “Have to think about the club”

Barcelona fans were all left emotional and in shock as Xavi announced his departure from the club. He claimed that the club needs a change of dynamic and that he will depart at the end of the season.

He made his decision during the Christmas and New Year break, but kept it from the club, including the players, for a month. The 3-5 defeat against Villarreal was the perfect opportunity for him to announce his exit.

A club legend much before he even started coaching, Xavi restored passion among the supporters in the last couple of seasons, with higher attendances at the Camp Nou and a more identifiable fanbase at home games.

One such fan approached Xavi after training today, asking him to sign his Xavi playing cards. The two shared a rather heartwarming conversation during it.

A fan: “I will miss you very much, Xavi.”

Xavi: “No man, the club must continue.”

Fan: “But you are part of the club.”

Xavi: “Because I am part of the club, I have to think about the club now.”

Fan: “I swear I will miss you, I love you so much.”

Barcelona have quickly jumped into action in an attempt to find a replacement for Xavi, with names of Jurgen Klopp, Hansi Flick, Roberto de Zerbi, Imanol Alguacil, among others high on the list.

Final decision will likely be made just before Xavi eventually leaves the club in June.
